To get started, gather your mushrooms. Make sure to clean them, slice them, and make sure they are flat. You can use any type of mushroom you like, but good ones are shiitake, maitake, oyster, or button white. You could even mix and match if you want to.

So you can get the real flavors of this decadent dish, you will need to use both butter and oil. However, you can change the butter for margarine and use sunflower or olive oil.

As for the seasoning, this dish is all about garlic, parsley, salt, black pepper, and lemon juice. You can use fresh or minced garlic, but in a pinch, garlic powder works too. If you don’t have parsley, try using rosemary, cilantro, or oregano. As for the salt and pepper, these are key, but you can shake things up by using more heat and adding red pepper flakes or cayenne pepper.

Overall, this buttered bread will be ready in about 10 minutes, but you must serve it toasted and warm! Make sure to prepare the mushrooms at the same time that you toast the bread so that everything is steamy hot when you serve it.

You can accompany this appetizer with some sour cream, onion dip, or caramelized onions. Serve it on its own, as a side dish, or as an appetizer for your next dinner party.

Don’t let your mushrooms go to waste! This buttered bread with mushrooms is the perfect comfort food that will wow anyone at home.
