Thinking of dinner during the week can be overwhelming and tiring. But this lemon grilled mushroom dish can become a weeknight favorite and a way to stay healthy, too.
Why This Lemon Grilled Mushrooms Dish Will Boost Your Immune System
Eating mushrooms can make your body strong
Mushrooms are a great source of selenium, vitamin C, and choline. All of these are antioxidant nutrients that help prevent inflammation and tumor-inducing pathways.
However, mushrooms have abilities far beyond that, such as reducing DNA damage and carcinogen concentrations, inhibiting the growth of cancer cells, and stimulating the immune system.
More so, the active polysaccharides, such as beta-glucans and chitosans in mushrooms, protect against the common cold, flu, infections, and viruses.
Finally, these same compounds reduce LDL blood cholesterol levels, reducing the risk of inflammation and heart disease.
Don’t skip the lemon today!
Consuming just one lemon provides over 30 mg of vitamin C. This vitamin is a powerful antioxidant, strengthening the immune system as well.
By the way, lemon can also help boost iron absorption, making your body stronger and better at using oxygen.
Bring on the onions, garlic, and parsley!
First, let’s talk onions. This vegetable is a powerful prebiotic, regulating your digestive tract.
Garlic is another powerful prebiotic. It has been used as a way to combat the common cold and flu for centuries.
Yet, these two vegetables are also powerful anti-inflammatory foods, which help regulate inflammation and disease processes in your body.
Parsley is often overlooked, but this herb is high in vitamin K, which regulates your blood coagulation and how you fight disease.
These are just some of the immune-boosting properties of this lemon grilled mushroom dish you’ll prepare tonight.
So, what are you waiting for? Treat yourself and your family with this fun, nutritious and healthy dish.
