While not everyone has ever heard of grilled chanterelles, this mushroom dish is perfect for any occasion. Making this recipe will take a few minutes at most, but you will have your family, friends, or dinner guests, begging for more. You don’t even have to be a vegetarian to appreciate the power and flavor that these mushrooms will bring.
Try These Grilled Chanterelles For A Different Type Of Dish
To start, you should know that mushrooms are extremely healthy. These fungi contain a high amount of vitamins, minerals, and fiber. Furthermore, they are incredible antioxidants and anti-inflammatories. If you suffer from heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, or any other chronic illness, then adding mushrooms to your diet may be the way to go.
But have you tried chanterelles before? This yellow flower-looking mushroom is not very common commercially, but if you come across it, take advantage! The flavor is semi-fruity and slightly peppery. However, the key to these mushrooms is the aroma, which many describe as apricot-like.
Grilling chanterelles is a great way to prepare them, as they will soften but not too much. These mushrooms are great with garlic and pepper, but you can add other spices as well.
If you want to try something different, use the grilled chanterelles to go on top of bruschetta for a tasty appetizer. You can also have them as a main dish, simply accompany them with some tasty vegetables, like eggplant or asparagus, and have some potatoes with olive oil on top. And if you prefer using grilled chanterelles as a side dish, try them on their own, or with a light sauce, like harissa or lemon-yogurt.
Make sure to try this recipe before the grilling season is over! You won’t regret it and you may even find your new favorite mushroom. Next time you have family or friends over, try this dish and surprise them.
