Try This Herbed Mushroom and Protect Your Body

Why mushrooms?

For starters, mushrooms are high in selenium, potassium, copper, iron, and phosphorus. But they are also a good source of vitamin D.

This vegetable is also a good source of two important antioxidants, ergothioneine and glutathione. These help the body fight oxidative stress and free radicals.

While they protect your body, including heart, brain, and lungs, they also allow it to get more energy. This is all thanks to their riboflavin, folate, thiamine, pantothenic acid, and niacin content.

These B vitamins in mushrooms are all essential for oxygen transport into our red blood cells. This increases your body’s ability to function efficiently.

What about the rest of the ingredients?

To begin, garlic is a good prebiotic. But it’s also an anti-inflammatory that has been proven to help your body fight off infections and decrease inflammation.

On the other hand, cayenne pepper is often considered a super food. The spiciness comes from a nutrient called capsaicin.

Research has shown that capsaicin can help alleviate pain, reduce inflammation, and fight off stressors. Like mushrooms, cayenne pepper can build a stronger body.

Parsley is a powerful herb as well. It is high in vitamin K, and the flavonoid myricetin, which has anti-cancer properties.

Along these same lines, basil is another healthy herb that is high in polyphenols, known to prevent diseases by increasing immunity, decreasing inflammation, and fighting free radicals.

Now, there is no excuse to not eat your mushrooms. Try this herbed mushroom recipe next!
