What’s so special about mushrooms?

To start, mushrooms are high in soluble fiber, which is the ideal type to eat if you are prone to have high cholesterol or heart disease. These polysaccharides in mushrooms help promote healthy gut movements and the growth of healthy microorganisms.

However, these same fibers are absorbed more slowly and tend to trap cholesterol that is free in your blood, helping your body get rid of it.

Also, mushrooms contain many vitamins and minerals, including B vitamins, vitamin D, and selenium. All of these nutrients act as antioxidants. They help in preventing free radical damage to your heart vessels and other cells in your body.

Vitamin B12 in this vegetable has also been shown to reduce the risk of heart complications, such as heart disease and a heart attack.

Eat your spinach, garlic, and onions

When mixed with mushrooms, eating spinach can help lower the risk of heart complications. This is due to its high vitamin K, A, and C content.

The vitamins A and C are especially helpful in preventing oxidative stress. It can also help in preventing inflammation in your heart and other organs.

Furthermore, onions and garlic come from the same family and share the same properties. In the case of your heart health, they prevent the formation of blood clots. And like mushrooms, also trap cholesterol to remove it from your body.
