A mushroom cake with herbs is a vegetarian dish that reminds of tasty crab cakes but without the guilt. You can prepare this on a hot summer day for an evening outside, for lunch when you have a busy day ahead, or even as a snack to last the rest of the day.
This Mushroom Cake With Herbs Is The Homemade Meal To Try
To make this recipe, gather your eggs, mushrooms, all-purpose flour, breadcrumbs, onion, jalapeno, parsley, pepper, and vegetable oil.
You can use other ingredients, including whole-wheat flour, almond flour, Panko, green onions, chili peppers, cilantro, and olive oil.
Before you start cooking, be sure to lightly beat three eggs and mix the eggs with mushrooms, breadcrumbs, flour, onion, jalapeno, parsley, and pepper.
You will want to start making cake shapes with the mushroom mix and start frying them for about 4 minutes on each side. Make sure you check on your cakes so they do not turn too brown on one side. If you have a big enough pan, you can fry more than one cake at a time.
Be careful with the hot oil, as it can splash and cause severe burns. When your mushroom cakes are done, drain them by placing a paper towel over a plate, and drying your cakes there.
Serve your mushroom cakes with herbs warm on their own, with a good coleslaw, tartar sauce, and potatoes.
If you want to make these cakes even more filling, try adding more vegetables to the cake mix. You can shave down carrots, cubed bell peppers, and even crushed peanuts. If you want to, add tuna or salmon to make the cakes even more filling! If you prefer, serve your mushroom cakes with grilled fish or chicken.
Prepare these cakes any time you want a quick, delicious meal that is always satisfying!
