A crispy fried mushroom recipe is what many look for when they want to indulge, and yet, stay on the healthier side. You can truly make this dish whenever you want and turn it into a meal, a snack, side dish, or appetizer.
This Crispy Fried Mushroom Recipe Is As Decadent As It Sounds
What will I need?
For starters, gather your favorite mushrooms. This recipe works well with white buttons, but make sure to buy them whole. You can also try porcini, Portobello, or shiitake. Before anything, you should clean your mushrooms, quart them, and clear any bruises or wrinkles.
In terms of the rest of the ingredients, you will need flour, garlic salt, eggs, water, and oil. You can change the batter by using panko or breadcrumbs, cornstarch, minced garlic, and pepper.
If you want an even tastier dish, try adding herbs, like parsley, thyme, or dill, and spices, like onion powder, and red pepper flakes.
You can also try making a dipping sauce, as fried mushrooms go well with plenty of different flavors. Consider an Asian-inspired sauce made of soy sauce, teriyaki sauce, rice wine vinegar, and chives. If you like something more relaxed, a garlic aioli will do as well.
Enjoy these crispy fried mushrooms as a delicious snack on the weekend, or serve them for your friends during a game night. They also go incredibly well as part of a stir-fry or noodle mix.
When you are trying to make things healthier, consider using your air-fryer, or baking these instead. Be aware, however, that the flavor and texture will not be the same as when you fry them.
Who said you can’t have your cake and eat it too? This delicious crispy fried mushroom recipe is the decadent indulgence you were looking for without too much hassle!
