Try This Grilled Cheese Cremini Mushroom For A Quick and Filling Meal
To prepare this dish, use cremini mushrooms, crumbled blue cheese, bacon, hot sauce, cream cheese, salt, and pepper.
Other ingredients you could use instead are button mushrooms, shiitake mushrooms, oyster mushrooms, feta cheese, Gorgonzola cheese, Canadian bacon, turkey bacon, sriracha, and sour cream.
Begin the process by washing and drying your mushrooms. Make sure there is no dirt in between caps, and then remove the stems, but leave the caps intact.
You will want to mix the cream cheese, hot sauce, blue cheese, salt, and pepper. To do this, whip the cream cheese until it softens. Otherwise, you can also leave it out at room temperature for about one hour.
This cheese mixture will go on top of your caps and the bacon is going to wrap around each piece. Hold the bacon together with a toothpick.
Once your grill is warm, all that is left to do is grill the mushrooms for about seven minutes. The time can vary depending on the width of your caps. In the end, your mushrooms should be softer and browner, the bacon crispy, and your cheese melted.
Serve warm as an appetizer, side dish, or snack any time.
As you may know, not everyone is a fan of blue cheese. However, this mixture of flavors does soothe the sharpness of the cheese, making it softer and more delicate. If this cheese is still not your favorite choice, try using a softer cheese, like Swiss or provolone instead.
