Ingredients
12 oz (300 g) white button mushrooms
8 oz (200 g) cream cheese
8 oz (200 g) turkey sausage (cut into smaller pieces)
1/4 cup (32 g) butter
3 cloves garlic (minced)
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 350 °F (175 °C).
- Wash the mushrooms thoroughly and drain them. Chop off the stems and cut into smaller pieces. Set the mushroom caps aside.
- Heat some oil in a pan over medium heat.
- When the oil is warm, toss in the garlic and cook until golden brown. Add the sausage and cook for 5 minutes.
- Stir in the chopped mushroom stems. Let them cook for 3 more minutes. Discard excess oil.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese with the sausage mixture. Mix well to make the filling. Season with salt and pepper to meet desired taste.
